Undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor has come a long way since starting her pro boxing journey in 2016. Now, she’s hit a dream milestone: sharing a fight card with the one and only Mike Tyson! It’s like a ‘pinch-me’ moment for the Irish champ, who’s all smiles and awe as she and the legendary former heavyweight champion share a special moment at the event’s photoshoot.

Both Tyson and Taylor will feature in the Netflix exclusive event at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, against YouTube star Jake Paul and Puerto Rican boxing sensation Amanda Serrano. With days left in the fight, Taylor and Tyson crossed paths in their photoshoot for the event. This moment came to light when Most Valuable Promotions, who are promoting the event, shared the behind-the-scenes picture.

A legendary handshake caught on camera

Just the other day, Most Valuable Promotions took to Instagram, posting, “Mike Tyson and Katie Taylor share a special moment during the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson & Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano photoshoot,” alongside a snapshot of the two legends.

In the photo, we can see Mike Tyson and Katie Taylor shaking hands, with Taylor’s expression radiating appreciation for meeting the boxing icon. At 58, Tyson is returning to the ring four years after his exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr., which ended in a draw.

His last professional fight, however, was back in 2005, when he suffered a sixth-round stoppage loss to Kevin McBride. Meanwhile, Taylor will step back into the ring after a year-long hiatus, following her victory over Chantelle Cameron, where she avenged an earlier defeat.

Her upcoming match with Amanda Serrano is also a rematch, with Serrano determined to redeem herself from her 2022 loss to Taylor in a bout hailed as the greatest women’s boxing match in history.

Regardless, fans expressed their delight to see these two boxing legends together, flooding the comment sections with excitement—joined by UFC star Molly McCann, who also chimed in.

It’s rare for such moments to happen, but when they do, the observer can’t help but cherish the moment. United Kingdom’s Molly McCann quickly shared her appreciation of the moment by writing, “👏👏👏👏.” The Liverpudlian is coming off a decision defeat against Bruna Brasil at UFC 304 in Manchester.

Meanwhile, this user came up with a joke to highlight the difference in Taylor and Tyson’s size. “Mike looks small asf next to her,” the user wrote. However, the reality is, of course, the opposite—Tyson is much bulkier than Taylor.

The next user had a similar joke in mind, asking, “Did you give him your autograph?” Of course, Tyson is far more accomplished and globally recognized. At least the next user took the moment seriously, sharing their thoughts on the picture. “She is very lucky,” the user wrote. As previously mentioned, boxers today would never get the chance to share a card with Tyson.

We revert back to some jokes. The next user felt Tyson may break Taylor’s hand. “Don’t break her wrist champ,” the user wrote. Interestingly, Tyson once bit off Evander Holyfield’s ear during their boxing match in 1997.

That being said, with the fight nearing, MVP highlighted the special moment between Mike Tyson and Katie Taylor to attract more people to the fight on Netflix. However, it’s yet to be seen whether the Friday fight turns out to be a success. What did you think about the picture?
