Undefeated Boxing Champion Gives Showtime President 4-Word Reality Check For Jake Paul vs Hasim Rahman Jr. Fight Cancellation Remarks

Many fans have been disappointed after the canceled scheduled bout between Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr. The bout was called off after Paul accused the heavyweight boxer of not honoring his contract. However, Rahman Jr. claimed that Paul and his team did not let him cut weight till the weigh-ins.

This has caused many fans and analysts to take sides. Notably, Former middleweight champion Sergio Mora took to Twitter to defend The Problem Child and call out Rahman Jr. for not honoring the contract.

Moreover, this started a back and forth between former lightweight boxer Jamal Herring and Showtime president Stephen Espinoza after Herring responded to Mora’s tweet

Jamal Herring calls out Jake Paul

Herring came to the heavyweight boxer’s defense as he claimed Jake Paul had a week’s notice to find a replacement but canceled the whole event instead. Furthermore, he stated that changes could have been made as the bout was not canceled at the weigh-ins.

Notably, another fan came to Paul’s defense and stated that finding a replacement in a week is not an easy task. He also urged Herring not to defend Rahman Jr.’s unprofessionalism.

Moreover, Herring then replied to the fan stating that promotions have previously found replacements in a week’s notice giving the example of Gervonta Davis vs Abner Mares which fell through. He also claimed that the co-main event of his own card was bumped up after he pulled out.

 

Errol Spence Jr. trolls Showtime President

This was not all, as the Showtime president, Stephen Espinoza also got involved.

He replied to Gerring and claimed that his examples were not PPV cards and that although replacements were made for PPV events; they were usually at 5 to 6 weeks’ notice.

However, undefeated Welterweight Champion, Errol Spence Jr. was having none of Espinoza’s claims as he gave the example of his own fight against Manny Pacquiao where the show went on even after Spence pulled out a week before the fight with Yordenis Ugas taking his place.

The undefeated champion was not shy to call out the hypocrisy of the Showtime president, who looked like he was giving preferential treatment to the YouTube sensation.
