This Saturday, one of the prime young guns of boxing, Gervonta Davis, will move up to the super-lightweight roster. He will go toe-to-toe against Mario Barrios in this 12-round WBA super-lightweight title fight.

As this contest is one of the most career-defining fights for ‘Tank’, he’s ready to pull off a thriller once he gets inside the ring on June 26th. But prior to their fight taking place, at the pre-fight press conference, Barrios took a cosmic jibe at Davis, eventually scoring a win in the verbal war.

Michael Benson shared this video from SHOWTIME Boxing’s press event. In this conference, Davis first said, “When I’m victorious, I should be up there.”

Barrios later stated, “I mean, I should be. But, Leonard Ellerbe said they have big plans for him. And I fully intend you know on fu***in up those plans come Saturday.”

Though ‘El Azteca’ is one of the most skillful technicians in the 140-pound roster, he hasn’t stayed in the limelight like Davis.

‘Tank’ is one high-voltage boxer who has a colossal fan base. In just a short span of time, he has risen to the peak of his game and has amassed global fame and attention. Now, on Saturday night, the hungry 26-year-old will look to fulfill his wish of conquering the WBA super-lightweight strap.
