Vasyl Lomachenko desires to continue his run in the lightweight division as he envisioned a rematch against Teofimo Lopez or a fight against Gervonta Davis in 2021.

The 32-year-old lost his unified crown against Teofimo Lopez in a 12-round battle on October 17th, which also ended his 13-fight win streak. However, the Ukrainian didn’t accept the defeat plain.

He cussed it as a robbery and tagged himself the legitimate winner while calling out Lopez for the rematch several times. Well, Lopez is yet to announce anything regarding the rematch, and it has very low chances of happening. So, Lomachenko plans to fight Gervonta Davis.

Davis, the WBA lightweight champion, had a sensational 2020 with a KO win over Leo Santa Cruz. The win saw him become one of the most talked-about-boxers of the year and it also garnered The Matrix’s attention.

That said, Lomachenko is still relevant in the lightweight title picture. If not for the unified titles against Lopez, he wants Gervonta Davis’ WBA strap in the new year.

Reporter Michael Benson offered the fans this update from his official social media handle, citing a possible future of Lomachenko in the lightweight roster. While Lomachenko is no longer the champion, it’s evident that he is still a looming prodigy in it.
