The 7- bout fight card, inclusive of two title-contests, has several aspects to look for. However, Ortiz Jr. vs Hooker will still be the most intriguing part. Posing an undefeated rising star against a veteran, the contest can help to draft several future blockbusters in the division.

That said, both the boxers will have their fair share of chances in winning the fight. Although Ortiz Jr. can be the favorite for his unbeaten resume, that doesn’t demean Hooker’s chances inside the ring. Here’s how the upcoming thriller can look like.

Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs Maurice Hooker- An Interesting clash of welterweights

5’10” tall orthodox Vergil Ortiz Jr. is a knockout specialist. He has attained all 16 wins of his pro-career via stoppage, and that is something worth hailing. He has immense power and pace that turns him treacherous. Meanwhile, his 70” reach also comes in handy to shoot from close. So Ortiz Jr. will have a lot of armor on his side. But he hasn’t faced anyone of Hooker’s ability.

A win against Hooker will be a gateway for Ortiz Jr. to aim at the bigger names. But Hooker can put an end to his undefeated run. 5’11” tall, ‘Might Mo’ will have a 10” reach advantage and being stylistically alike, both the orthodox can drag the fight to the final bell. Additionally, Maurice Hooker has a 31 fight experience with a record of 27-3-1 and 18 KOs to his name.

Both boxers are heavy-handed and need to time one punch to close the show. But considering Ortiz Jr’s flexibility and stamina, he can dictate the pace of the fight. Although he needs to be equally careful with a disadvantage in reach, Vergil Orti Jr. would still be on the favoring side with his remarkable fight IQ on board.

Prediction: Vergil Ortiz Jr. knocks out Maurice Hokker (8 round)
