Boxing legend Mike Tyson is very familiar with using his hands to inflict the maximum damage on his opponents. However, it seems that the former heavyweight champion also has a decent throw. Tyson has never been one to shy away from PR events, so it was no surprise when he threw an opening pitch of a baseball match.

Back in 2014, Tyson threw the first pitch at PNC Park, the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates to promote a boxing match. Moreover, this was a highly entertaining showing as ‘Iron Mike’ successfully found the strike zone, but lacked some speed and accuracy with his pitch. This led the fans to react to his awkward throw.

One fan stated that the throw had a good action which could be very deceiving for the hitter.

Another fan pointed out the altitude of the ball as Tyson threw it like a breaking ball.

One fan claimed that Tyson can definitely pitch with his short arm delivery and pitch.

However, one fan hilariously stated that he would have missed twice by Tyson’s action alone.

One fan claimed that ‘Kid Dynamite’ brought down the hammer with this pitch.

Lastly, one fan stated that he would rather face Tyson’s ball than his punches any day of the week.

The fans had mixed opinions about this pitch, with some claiming that it was a decent throw, while others feel that it was not among the best. However, Tyson certainly knows how to captivate audiences with anything he does, including a ceremonial throw at a baseball game.

Tyson pulls out his ultimate move on Tony Sanchez

After the pitch Tyson did the unexpected, pulling out the most infamous move he ever did. Back in 1997, in the second bout between Iron Mike and Evander Holyfield, the former bit the latter’s ear and threw the bit in the ring. To this day, this is considered to be the most notorious moment in boxing history.

However, Tyson tried to replicate this on former Pirates player Tony Sanchez. After throwing his pitch Tyson ran up to the Sanchez and pretended to bite his ear off. This was a moment only Tyson could recreate as he tried to entertain fans even after the ceremonial pitch.
