VIDEO: Canelo Alvarez Flexes Mini Golf Skills Ahead of Avni Yildirim Fight

The pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez has shown his relaxed approach to his fight against Avni Yildirim. The Mexican superstar showed how he is spending time in the hotel room ahead of his title defense against the Turkish challenger.

Alvarez won the WBA and WBC belts by dominating Callum Smith in December. Now, less than 10-weeks from his last fight, the champion is back in action. Despite the amount riding on this fight, Canelo seems to be in good spirits.

Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube channel posted a video showing the champion playing Mini Golf in his room with his coach, Eddie Reynoso.

The two share a close relationship in and out of the ring; and fans now got a glimpse of how they spend their time when they’re not training.

The Mexican superstar even bet $1000 on a putt. Moreover, the multi-weight world champion showed how good he is at golf with different Putts throughout the hotel.

The video showed different holes set up for the champion, and Alvarez tucked it all away with ease. Therefore, the video revealed yet another talent of the Mexican, who has already displayed his singing in a previous video.

Why is there a lot riding on the Canelo Alvarez vs Avni Yildirim fight?

Alvarez is relaxed and in good spirits ahead of the bout; however, it does not paint the actual picture. Despite the vast difference in ability, a lot is riding on this fight for the champion. Therefore, he will undoubtedly take this fight seriously.

The reason for Canelo Alvarez coming back to the ring so soon is his plan to reach his goal of becoming the undisputed king. After his victory over Smith in December, he announced he would stay in the super-middleweight division and chase the unification bouts.

Since then, a fight against Billy Joe Saunders is reportedly in place, while talks for a bout against Caleb Plant are also underway.

Both Saunders and Plant fought recently, and therefore, the only way Canelo could make it happen was if he fought his mandatory now.

If he loses this fight against Yildirim, all the plans for the undisputed title go out of the window. Therefore, he has to get the victory at all costs.
