Canelo Alvarez has one of the toughest fists in boxing history. Apart from his clinical abilities, Alvarez’s sheer power, especially his vicious body shots, has curbed several of his top-tier opponents. Meanwhile, the Mexican superstar seems open to passing the torch to the next generation.

While Canelo Alvarez remains a boxing idol to the upcoming era, the champion has frequently been active as a guide to the other boxers. From teaching his own stablemates like Ryan Garcia and Andy Ruiz Jr, to spending time with the amateurs, Canelo Alvarez has also expressed himself as a legit trainer.

Recently, he was spotted training with a young kid. Boxing trainer Henry Garcia posted a clip on social media where Alvarez was seen training a kid from Capetillo and TM Boxing Gym. As Andy Ruiz Jr was taking a walk around, Alvarez showed the kid how to plant straight and cross hooks to the body.

Following three title wins from December to May, Alvarez is arguably the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world now. He is one belt short of becoming the undisputed unified 168 lbs champion. A fight against Caleb Plant may see him attain that status. However, the near future might hold something bigger for the 30-year-old boxer.

What’s next for Canelo Alvarez?

Canelo Alvarez will clearly opt to face Caleb Plant somewhere this year and then make a move towards the other fights. However, he seems interested in moving up to 175 lbs. While most people see Artur Beterbiev as the right challenger for Alvarez, the Mexican superstar has verbally accepted the fight. Eddie Hearn has clarified the information from his end, sending fans into a frenzy.

However, the list goes on and goes. From a trilogy against Gennady Golovkin to a showdown against Jermall Charlo, Alvarez can cherry-pick his opponents. This includes names at super-middleweight too as the likes of David Benavidez will be keen on sharing the ring with Saul.
