Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant are now two weeks away from fighting for the undisputed super middleweight championship. With a fair bit of bad blood between the two, they are all set to put it all out on the line on November 6.

Showtime recently released its first episode of the ‘All Access’ series for the Canelo vs Plant main event. The promotional feature presents a balanced perspective and shows where both fighters are coming from.

It highlights the differences between the p4p king born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and the IBF champion raised and molded-in Ashland City, Tennessee. Apart from just their lifestyles and backgrounds, Episode 1 also shows both champions working at their gyms.

In the first episode, the Mexican champion showed off fancy boxing shorts that he specifically uses for training purposes. He wore Dolce & Gabbana shorts decked out with sparkling Swarovski crystals.

Canelo said he has more similar shorts which he wears in training. He then pointed out that he gets these shorts from his sponsors and that he enjoys wearing them.

They’re Swarovski. I have a few others for the week. They send me them and it’s fun to wear them when I train. I feel very special,” said Canelo Alvarez.

Stepping into this fight, Caleb Plant is the taller fighter (6 feet 1 inch) with a longer reach (74 inches). In comparison, Canelo Alvarez is 5 feet 8 inches tall with a 70.5 inches reach.

Judging by Caleb Plant’s last professional bout against Caleb Truax in January 2021, he will try to capitalize and double down on his natural physical advantages.

On the other hand, Canelo Alvarez is coming off a clear win over Billy Joe Saunders, who was a taller opponent with a longer reach.

Against Saunders, he was able to close the distance with skillful combinations and world-class movement. He landed two straight jabs while using his full guard to block shots. These jabs would then allow him to land sharp body shots and overhand rights from inside the pocket.

Over the years, Canelo Alvarez has faced many fighters with similar advantages and approaches. Hence, it will not be unfamiliar to him. However, this will indubitably be Caleb Plant’s toughest challenge to date.

Given the magnitude of the fight and the caliber of the two, it is safe to say, the winner of this 12-round fight will definitely go down in the history books.
