Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia are two of boxing’s biggest young stars. The undefeated fighters have always been linked to a fight with each other. However, even though Garcia became Haney’s mandatory, this fight is still nowhere close as of now.

Despite this, the fighters have met multiple times in the amateurs. According to Boxrec, the pair have met 4 times with ‘The Flash’ winning two and ‘The Dream’ winning two. Let’s take a look at the time when they traded blows on one such occasion.

DAZN posted the video on their Twitter amidst all the rumors of a potential fight. We see the two taking part in the 2014 USA National Junior Championships final where Haney fought from the red corner, while Garcia fought in the blue.

From the video, fans get a glimpse of what we can expect when these two steps into the ring. Both fighters throw a barrage of power-punches and land their fair share. On this occasion, despite it being a close fight, Haney got the victory and became champion.

Will we see Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney fight as pros?

The pair have always said they want to set the record straight with a fight in the professional scene. Since both fighters have won 2 apiece, both want the bragging rights. In early 2020, Garcia called out Haney for the first time.

Garcia had just beaten Francisco Fonseca and took aim at Haney. ‘The Dream’ then entered the ring, and the two shared a heated moment. This sparked rumors that they would fight each other next. However, Haney went on to fight Gamboa while Garcia took on Campbell.

However, both came away with victories and therefore, are still on course to face each other. Ryan Garcia has stated he wants Gervonta Davis next.

Despite this, given their age, we expect the two fighters to be at the top of the game for a long time. Thus, it is inevitable that they will face each other and settle the scores.
