In the above video, Mayweather tried to block an athlete who wanted to score a basket. For the first few seconds, the undefeated boxer successfully controlled him, but later got puzzled by the athlete and found himself on the mat.

In his decorated boxing run, Mayweather was a stranger to getting knocked down. But in this different vertical altogether, he failed to stay on the vertical base for long.

As soon as he was on the floor, ‘Money’ took it to his chin and cracked up laughing. He quickly got up on his feet and resumed the ongoing contest. This is exactly what he did in the ring too.

The only time Floyd Mayweather got knocked down in his boxing career

Floyd Mayweather got stunned by several opponents in his career, but there was just one contest when he was actually ‘knocked down’. In 2001, Mayweather went up against Carlos Hernandez in a super featherweight contest. The 43-year-old fought considerably well in this fight until the sixth round, when the referee suspected his left glove touched the canvas.

Though it wasn’t a proper knockdown, it’s still considered being the only time when Mayweather was given a count by the referee. He even showed that hand to his corner, stating it as a reason for getting the countdown.

However, as the battle resumed, ‘Money’ did his job well and ended up getting his hand raised that night. Even in the toughest battles of his life, Floyd Mayweather always emerged on the top.
