Showtime Sports captured the moment where Floyd Mayweather face-timed Tyron Woodley before the fight, sending chills across the combat world. As they had already trained together at the gym, the last-minute video call might have validated a new bond between ‘Money’ and ‘The Chosen One’.

In the clip, Mayweather said, “One thing you know and I just want you to know this. He [Jake Paul] has never been buzzed before. You have been hit, you have been buzzed before. So, the difference between you and him, you can shake it off.”

Woodley clearly took note of it, as he came in as the aggressor in the fight. The first few rounds saw him poleaxe ‘The Problem Child’ brutally. He almost knocked down Paul in round four, which became one of the most iconic moments in the fight. But the social media celeb was fortunate to remain unbeaten, paving the path for a potential rematch.

Following the loss, Woodley threw the offer of re-matching Paul, which ‘The Problem Child’ accepted. But Paul also asked the UFC veteran to ink a tattoo stating ‘I Love Jake’ to earn the rematch. Although MMA fighters have advised Woodley to avoid the choice, the former welterweight champion didn’t sound friendly to his ex-UFC colleagues like Daniel Cormier.

He has agreed to meet Jake Paul again. As Woodley already shares Big Gerald as his trainer with Mayweather, it will be interesting to see if ‘The Chosen One’ embarks on a boxing career. Mayweather and Woodley have already appeared close to each other and can continue nourishing the bond ahead.
