Wladimir Klitschko began his boxing stint in 1996. Klitschko already made enough buzz around his debut because he won a gold medal in the 1996 Olympic games. That said, hardcore boxing lovers back then remained eager to see this astonishing prodigy create sensations with his performances.

That said, ‘Dr. Steelhammer’, in 2000, won his very first world heavyweight title by beating Chris Byrd. He dropped Byrd twice in the fight to claim the WBO title. Since then, Klitschko’s career only went upwards, and he rolled out steady performances to reach the peak.

Even in his concluding years, Klitschko made sure to prove his mettle against the current best heavyweights of this era, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Especially his fight with ‘AJ’ was one for the ages, wherein the veteran tried everything in his favor to smother Joshua.

Despite that, Klitschko ended up on the losing side, but the respect he gained was more than any other accolade or win. Also, the veteran hung up his gloves post this bout.
