Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather retired from the sport in 2017, when he defeated UFC icon Conor McGregor, extending his record to a perfect 50-0. But Mayweather’s love for the game keeps him engaged in exhibition bouts. Since his retirement, he has participated in four exhibition fights, and now he is ready for his fifth. But ahead of his fight, Koji ‘Kouzi’ Tanaka, who is also fighting on Mayweather’s card, tried kicking the boxing legend.

In the footage, Koji Tanaka can be seen standing close to Floyd Mayweather while he is surrounded by the media. After a little interval, the latter is seen throwing a kick toward Mayweather. Tanaka, however, only did it in a playful manner, as the two are seen having a normal talk.

The Japanese kickboxer apparently gained online popularity at one point after his boxing fight victory over Mayweather’s bodyguard Ray Sadeghi. Even though Koji was physically smaller than Sadeghi, he won the fight via third-round TKO.

Furthermore, ‘Kouzi’ will soon be seen on Mayweather’s undercard fighting J’hon Ingram. Interestingly, the latter trains at Mayweather’s boxing club in Las Vegas, and is expected to become a boxing star in the future. However, only time will tell if he manages to stop ‘Kouzi’ in their upcoming battle. 

A closer look at the Floyd Mayweather vs. Deji fight 

It’s only a few hours till ‘Money’ and ‘Deji’ square off in the ring on November 13th. The boxing fights will be a part of ‘The Global Titans Fight Series’. It is cluttered with some exciting match-ups, and the boxers will be seen turning on the lights at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.

The fight between British boxer Tommy Fury and Paul Bamba was an additional intriguing aspect of the event. Due to Fury’s inability to make weight, the match has since been dropped from the card. He disclosed in a video posted on Twitter that he and Bamba received different contracts with different weights. So, the match has been called off and will not take place in Dubai.
