After an emotional farewell to boxing, Manny Pacquiao looks ready for the second phase of his life as a political hero of the Philippines. The Senator had already confirmed his participation in the upcoming presidential elections in his motherland. He has now begun the official work for that.
This assures a complete quell on his in-ring career unless ‘Pac-Man’ decides to lace up the gloves again in the future, possibly in an exhibition. However, he doesn’t seem to carry any such ideas as of now. On returning to the ring after 2 years, ‘Pac-Man’ suffered a UD loss against Yordenis Ugas on August 21.

Merely a month later, Manny Pacquiao has signed the certificate of candidacy for president of the Philippines. Already a Senator, this is a massive leap for Pacquiao’s political career. He has been a role model for his people for several years. Now, he can finally be their leader and serve, which he had been doing since becoming the Senator.
The official social media handle of Bloomberg Quicktake posted a video of Pacquiao’s presidential candidate certificate signing.

Manny Pacquiao had claimed that he would remain active after the return against Ugas. Starting from a re-match against ’54 Milagros’ to accepting the potential fight against Errol Spence Jr, Pacquiao had teased several possibilities for his in-ring journey.
Nevertheless, Pacquiao has nothing left to achieve as a boxer. Aged 42, he is also way past his prime. Hence, moving from the ring to becoming a full-time politician might have been the best decision for the Filipino legend.

Hence, the Filipino elections will garner global attention this time, especially from boxing fans. If Manny Pacquiao wins the race, it will be a whirlwind of emotions across the country of the Philippines and several boxing fans all over the world.
