Ryan Garcia might not have faced the best fighters from the vicious 135 lbs roster yet. However, he trains with the absolute elites and pound-for-pound greats, which makes him a part of the champion-family at Eddy Reynoso’s stable. That said, the young boxer displayed his ability against Canelo Alvarez at the gym and caught the unified 168 lbs champion with a left hook.

It was not a sparring session, as both men were involved in boxing choreography. However, ‘KingRy’ reflected a better IQ and grabbed everyone’s attention. While the P4P king cracked up the lightweight boxer’s body, Ryan Garcia shot his left hook and appeared delighted to have thwarted Alvarez’s game plan.

The pair broke into laughter after that and shared a light moment. As Garcia and Alvarez went up against each other, Andy Ruiz Jr, Oscar Valdez, and several more boxers were also at the gym. All the elites share a similar trainer and gym, which further enriches their skills and strengthens the bond between them.

Ryan Garcia and Canelo Alvarez have always expressed love for each other. From attending each other’s fights to spending time at the gym, the modern-era warriors have a lot in common. When Ryan Garcia stopped Luke Campbell in January to claim the WBC Interim strap, Alvarez was present ringside.

Garcia had predicted a third-round stoppage for his stablemate when Alvarez went to defend his WBC, WBA, and Ring titles against Avni Yildirim in February. While both the boxers claimed big wins within a few days, they also gave the world a glimpse of their strong bond.

What’s next for Ryan Garcia and Canelo Alvarez?

As of now, none of them have confirmed their next official fights. However, Alvarez will probably go for an undisputed bout against IBF titlist Caleb Plant. The matchup is reportedly in the works and can happen by the end of this year. This validates the P4P king’s quality time in the gym.
