Not a lot of people were betting on Ryan Garcia to do what he did to Devin Haney on Saturday night in New York. However, the few people who did wager their money on the underdog won big. One of those few was Adin Ross, who seems to have gotten $5 million richer by the time the fight finally concluded.
Despite all the criticism, ‘The Flash’ seemed dominant right from the get-go. The Victorville native didn’t just win the fight via majority decision. He dropped Haney not once, not twice, but a total of three times—four if the chalked-off knockdown was counted. So, having bet on the unforeseen, Ross celebrated his new financial gain on his live stream on Kick. A clip of the moment was picked up by Jake Paul’s sports betting app Betr and shared on social media.

Despite all that, Garcia prevailed, producing 114-110 and 115-109 in his favor. However, for some odd reason, the third judge scored the fight 112-112 draw. Nevertheless, Ross can thank Garcia for making him the money by literally defying the odds. While Ross’ luck shined, someone else missed out on it.

Talking about Haney, Shields said, “Devin didn’t just go on there [and] lay down. But Ryan definitely came to fight and damn, I didn’t expect.” Moreover, on the next day, Shields hopped on X, revealing, “I only bet money on myself & @ShakurStevenson! I didn’t bet any money last night!”
It turns out Ryan Garcia’s shock win didn’t just benefit him, but also made a lot of people rich in the process. However, Shields’ principle to only bet on herself and Shakur Stevenson left her wishing she did. Did you place a bet on the fight? If yes, on whom? Let us know in the comment section below.
