WATCH: After Weathering an Early Storm, Montana Love Fights Back to Claim Decision Victory: Canelo vs Bivol Results

As fans were waiting for the incredible main event of the WBA light heavyweight championship fight, they were able to witness some masterful boxing throughout the night. Marc Castro displayed a clinical performance against Pedro Vincente. Another scintillating fight was for the IBF North American super lightweight championship between Montana Love and Gabriel Valenzuela.

Love and Valenzuela put on a show for the boxing world as they went toe-to-toe against each other in the undercard of Canelo vs Bivol. Fans weren’t disappointed as both fighters showed incredible grit and heart.

Love was coming into this fight following an emphatic stoppage win against Carlos Diaz and extended his undefeated record to 17-0-1.

On the other hand, Valenzuela was 25-2-1 coming into the bout after a brutal first-round knockout win against Juan Jimenez.

Montana Love defeats Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela

Both fighters put up an incredible performance as they gauged each other in the initial rounds. Love and Valenzuela displayed A very technical battle, as both were evenly matched throughout the rounds. Valenzuela maintained his reach with his jab.

However, at the end of the first round, Love scored a knockdown with a strong right hook. Then, Valenzuela responded by knocking down Love early in the second round.

Love and Valenzuela went toe-to-toe in an evenly matched bout. However, Love started dictating the later rounds, as Valenzuela couldn’t utilize his reach. Love poured in on Valenzuela with constant sharp punches. Valen started swinging for the fences at the dying seconds of the final round, although Love countered it clinically.

After 12 rounds of scintillating boxing by both fighters, Love claimed the victory via decision and clinches the IBF North American super lightweight championship, as Valenzuela couldn’t finish the job when he had the chance. Love extends his undefeated record to 18 wins with 1 draw.
