Right from the get-go, many were aware of the threat that the fighter from Ukraine would pose to Joshua. Usyk’s movement, footwork, and defense are unlike anything any heavyweight has ever faced before.

Experts and analysts predicted that AJ would make severe adjustments to his natural game to move past his opponent. However, the two-time unified heavyweight champ failed to match his opponent’s speed, movement, and agility and lost by unanimous decision.

How can Team Canelo help Anthony Joshua prepare for the Usyk rematch?

Matchroom top boss Eddie Hearn recently announced that Anthony Joshua has now triggered the rematch clause in his contract. On the other hand, Usyk said right after his win on Sep 25 that he would like to run it back with AJ next.

He claimed that AJ is now back in the gym. Hearn is now looking forward to becoming a three-time heavyweight world champion in the spring of next year.

If AJ teams up with Canelo Alvarez and Eddy Reynoso, Oleksandr Usyk could be in for some significant changes in his opponent’s game. In the first fight, Joshua did not show much agility in striking, movement, defense, and footwork.   These are some areas where Eddy Reynoso could help AJ improve.

Do you think this is the right direction for Joshua to head into?
