What do you do when you have two of the strongest men on earth facing off against each other? Have them play board games, considering the prevalent lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Early April saw Anthony Joshua take Eddie Hall on for a game of Connect 4.

The MANathon as they called it, brought both the British giants together to compete in a game of intelligence and fun. Both AJ and the strongman go on to prove that they are more than just big muscles and rugged chins.

Eddie “The Beast” Hall starts strong taking the heavyweight champion by surprise. Bagging the first win of the series. However, AJ exercises his right to a rematch and the two go back at it.

Not very dissimilar to boxing, the athletes make the challenge a trilogy. Winner takes all, sudden death. The players wasted no time, going right at it. The pair start the game strong with a lot of pace. However, both of them start feeling the pressure a little towards the end as they bring the pace down.

However, the efforts made by Hall were in vain, as Joshua steals the win right from under the strongman. Reeling The Beast in with a diversion, Anthony Joshua goes in for the kill and succeeds. Which leaves Stoke’s mountain of muscle calling Joshua out for fixing the bout.

Seemingly Hall’s initial victory was not to last with AJ being crowned the champ. A win like this may work in favor of the fighter hailing from Watford who has been gearing up to take on the top contender, Kubrat Pulev.

The fighters were looking forward to taking on each other on June 20th. However, the Coronavirus epidemic caused the fight to be delayed.

As things stand now, a huge change may hit the match up. Initially, the fight was looking to take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 25th July. However, there are chances that the fight may not take place in the U.K. at all as The Athletic’s Lance Pugmire reports.
