WATCH: Boxer Brandon Adams Walks Out With Bizarre Super Mario-Insipred Costume

Middleweight contender Brandon Adams has put together yet another fantastic performance in his bid for a title shot. The 31-year-old dispatched Sonny Duversonne in the second round to push his record to 22-3-0. However, despite his perfect performance, fans will remember this fight for Adams’ ring walkout costume. ‘Cannon’ raised a few eyebrows when he made his walkout to the ring.

Boxing has really moved in leaps and bounds from the traditional walkout robes from a few decades ago.Walkout costumes are gaining a lot of popularity.

Fans will immediately remember Deontay Wilder’s infamous comments about his own costume. However, Adams came out dressed as video game character Super Mario’s arch-nemesis, Bowser. Yes, he walked out to the ring wearing the shell on his back and a mask of a turtle. This is surely one of the most bizarre costumes fans have seen in the ring so far.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing either for the American boxer. When called for the referee’s instructions, Adams struggled to get the shell off his back. He needed the help of his trainers and finally managed to get it off.

Brandon Adams did get the victory over Sonny Duversonne

The slight failure when removing the shell did not bother Adams. In the end, he got the victory and in devastating fashion after pummeling Duversonne with multiple hooks in the corner. The referee had seen enough and waved it off. This is yet another step in the right direction for Adams as he sets his eyes on another title shot.

He beat Shane Mosley Jr to earn himself a title fight against Jermall Charlo; however, he came up short in a 12-round battle with the champion. After the fight, he said he will not turn down anything if the opportunity presents itself. Either way, he seems to be catching the eye of the fans with his boxing and walkout costumes.
