WATCH: Boxing Promoter Eddie Hearn Steps in the Ring to Punish His Opponent With Body Shots

The renowned boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is a big name in the sport of boxing. Though he has never been into the ring as a prizefighter, his contribution to the sport from outside the ring is appreciable. Since he took over his father’s company as chairperson of Matchroom Sport, the 42-year-old has never looked back.

But have you ever wondered that Eddie Hearn is also fond of lacing gloves in his meantime?

Ahead of the huge light-heavyweight clash between the pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez and Russian stalwart Dmitry Bivol, Hearn and CEO of his company, Frank Smith collided in an intense five rounds of sparring session in San Diego.

The official YouTube channel of Matchroom Boxing also uploaded their sparring session’s video

After launching Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol’s fight, the promoter did leather trading amid a small crowd. Having a size advantage over Frank, he dominated the ring from the initial round.

Throughout the slugfest, body punches remained the highlight of the event. Frank tried but could not reach with the jab, as the combination of body punches by Hearn was hurting the stomach of the latter. Smith tried to escape but could not and several times fell on the ropes.

However, stumbling Smith any how ended the 5 round session and in the end, made a hilarious remark. He asked Hearn, “Do you want to do another fight? Easy light work.”

This was not the first sparing session between Frank and Hearn. Prior to this, the duo has exchanged in a room a few years back.

He told ES news, “My friends used to call me that. Because you guys, Americans might need to know, I did have a couple of amateur bouts. I was absolutely terrible. My friends used to call me ‘Hitman Hearn’… Don’t worry about calling me ‘Hitman’. Eddie Hearn is fine,” said Hearn.”
