Before the main event, Lopez was interviewed on the broadcast. He said he was in attendance to show support to his ‘brother’ Canelo. And going by the performance is surely proud of the way the Mexican super-star went about his business.

Alvarez then showed his appreciation after the fight when he shared a moment of respect with Lopez.

Video footage showed the pair hugging and having a chat. Lopez among the crowd; the Mexican was on his way to the dressing room. It appeared as though both fighters showed admiration for each other for their respective achievements.

Was Canelo Alvarez’s victory similar to Teofimo Lopez’s?

Unlike Teofimo Lopez against Vasyl Lomachenko, Canelo Alvarez went into this fight as the favorite. Although Smith was the champion, many expected Canelo to win this fight.
