The bout between Floyd Mayweather and Deji will certainly go down as one of the most bizarre events in the history of the sport. The lackluster event was filled with drama and controversies even as the event progressed, with fights being canceled moments before and fighters failing to make weight.

Moreover, the main event was a one-sided show, with Mayweather dominating the proceedings throughout the fight. The fight was stopped in the sixth round after Mayweather came out hot, cornering Deji and firing fast punches. Eventually, referee Kenny Bayless had seen enough and stopped the fight. The event faced a lot of backlash for its underwhelming card and lackluster performances.

However, undisputed female middleweight champion Claressa Shields could not stop laughing after Mayweather made some remarks about the event. In a video, ‘Money’ can be seen along with a couple of fans. He then proceeds to comment about the match stating that the headlines in the media exactly reflected the event perfectly.

They said the headlines was Floyd Mayweather got a black eye….. and got a cold bank roll.’ he said in the video. Shields reacted to this video, posting it on her Twitter handle with the caption. “This how @FloydMayweather feel after his exhibition fight with @Deji cold  bank roll,” she wrote.

Mayweather and Shields have both had a great professional relationship through the years. Given that the two are the best in their divisions, it is natural for both of them to hold the other in high regard.

Moreover, the two are also from the state of Michigan, which might be why Shields came out in ‘Money’s support.

Ahead of Shields’ undisputed match against t Savannah Marshall, Mayweather gave the former his vote of confidence. He stated that he would be supporting Shields, also touting her as the best female boxer ever. “I’d like to see Claressa. She’s from Michigan, like myself, she’s a native of Michigan like myself. Two-time Olympic gold medalist, we like to call her the female TBE (The Best Ever) in the sport of boxing,” he said.
