WATCH: Logan Paul Channels His Inner Muhammad Ali, Imitates the Iconic ‘Rope-a-Dope’ Moment During Sparring

YouTuber turned boxer Logan Paul has been on the receiving end of endless criticism over the past few weeks. The internet sensation has got hate from fans for facing one of the best boxers of this generation without even having a win in the sport.

Paul will enter the ring for only the third time in his career on June 6 to face Floyd Mayweather. The superstar boxer is the favorite going into the bout. However, ‘The Maverick’ has now given a glimpse of what he can do in his latest sparring footage.

The 0-1 boxer took to his social media and shared a video where he imitated the famous ‘Rope-a-Dope’ move of the legendary Muhammad Ali. He showed his improved defense and speed, thus avoiding a barrage of punches from his sparring partner. Paul also showed his confidence as he captioned it, “two weeks until I beat @floydmayweather.”

Ali showed off the move in his famous bout against George Foreman in 1974. He used the ropes to balance himself and displayed fantastic head movement to avoid Foreman’s punches. On June 6, Logan Paul will hope his improved defense will help him upset Mayweather just like Ali upset Foreman.

Why is Logan Paul working on his defense?

The video showed a massive improvement from Paul on the defensive end from his previous videos. He now looks faster and is moving much better. So why has ‘The Maverick’ worked on the defensive side of his game?

As Paul is the underdog in the fight, many expect Mayweather to knock him out. In addition, he is also the bigger man, and thus, will be at a massive speed disadvantage. Hence, he had to improve his speed to avoid getting hit.
