Mike Tyson was a revolutionary champion in the sport of boxing. Unlike other heavyweights, he was not so tall. Therefore, the former champ has to face boxers who were taller than him. To tackle the opponents, ‘The Baddest Man on Planet’ had developed his own style of boxing under the wings of the renowned trainer, Cus D, Amato.

The champ has mastered the art so well that he was a blueprint of an ideal boxer in his prime. His footwork was so amazing that it’s even hard for modern-day combat sports warriors to manifest. Recently, Tyson gave a boxing lesson to former UFC champ Henry Cejudo in the presence of trainer Rafael Cordeiro.

The 35-year-old cage warrior first interacted with the former two-time heavyweight champ.

He asked, “I would like to know how is it that you actually get in because you’re a heavyweight that was really a cruiserweight. What I mean like you weren’t 285 pounds heavyweight that was dropping down? You’re 220 today.”

To which Tyson replied, “That was to my advantage than being big and me being who I am either as my advantage. You know it has nothing to do with styles or sides. It’s all about the morale of the fighter. How important you should do this is more important than the heating it’s up to the individual. How important this is?”

After a brief discussion, Tyson demonstrated how to fight low and close space in boxing.

He laced gloves and manifested the prime ‘Kid dynamite’ at the age of 55. He unloaded the jab-slip-uppercut combo on the pads of the trainer with smooth footwork. It was so fast that the 35-year-old UFC fighter could not catch it at the first instant.

Did Henry Cejudo learn the combo taught by Mike Tyson?

This was a lesson from Tyson’s boxing book so it was difficult to learn as it isn’t a basic combination punch. Therefore, the former UFC champ asked Tyson to do it again. So Tyson delivered a similar combo several times.
