Mike Tyson, in his prime, played the role of a violent assassin trained to defeat his opponents in the most violent way possible. Not only was Tyson one of the best boxers on the planet, but also a ruthless warrior looking to inflict as much pain as possible.

Given his poverty-stricken and rough childhood, it was natural for a young Tyson to express his anger and frustration violently, moreover; he channeled that emotion into his fighting style, which made him an even better boxer. However, this led to the champ bottling up his trauma, which took a great toll on him mentally as Tyson made a ‘violent’ confession on the latest episode of his podcast.

Mike Tyson makes a confession

In an episode of his podcast, Hotboxin Tyson revealed how his mind took control of him and made a confession to his therapist Sean MacFarland, aka Seano.

“Too many people say “you’re the greatest. You’re the best and then my ego says you’re a punk a*s b***h.” Don’t you remember that guy took advantage of you, he kicked your a*s. That’s what my ego tells me.” He said.

Tyson then stated that this made him want to “attack somebody,” which he thought would have defeated his “ego.” ” Then I have to attack somebody which I thought was defeating my ego by being violent. Which it was losing to him.” He added.

It is not surprising that Tyson developed a huge ego. His success during the early stages of his career was in part because of his ego boosting his confidence. Being violent was Iron Mike’s way of coping with this, but he realized he could only defeat his ego by losing. Like all men, Tyson also has his flaws. However, he recognizes those flaws and works towards changing them and hopefully becoming a better person.
