Then, Gervonta Davis will put his WBA strap on the line and face Leo Santa Cruz, who will also put his WBA super featherweight title at stake.

Although Davis had kicked off his pro career three years before Lopez, ‘El Brooklyn’ has still come a long way to reach the same status in professional boxing. Today, Gervonta Davis and Teofimo Lopez are two of the best world champion lightweight boxers.

It was one-on-one sparring with both the boxers giving it all inside the ring. They were also wearing the headgears in the session. That said, both the boxers landed some massive shots on the other and it was nothing less than a tactical showdown.

A lot has changed since that time. Davis and Lopez have evolved highly, and they are two of the biggest elites of the lightweight roster now. Thus, a matchup between them would look very different.

It will also determine the divisional best between them. Although there are several other prodigies to grab the title, Lopez and Davis are clearly the top-gunners. Thus, they need to get past their upcoming rivals to cement a matchup between them.
