Tyson Fury has a legitimate claim at being the most dominant active pugilist. He has an undefeated record and made a grand comeback following personal troubles that plagued him in the middle of the last decade. Now, following the coronavirus lockdown, Fury has made it back to the gym and is finally boxing against a mitt holder rather than a bag. The Lineal Champion gave fans a sneak peek of a session where he seems to be getting back into the groove.

Tyson Fury resumes hitting the mitts

Earlier, ‘The Gypsy King’ seemingly gave up on home workouts after nearly 3 months. He claimed he can’t be bothered to train anymore. However, it seems as though he is done with the makeshift training. This is because he has returned to the gym and is working on his punches and combinations.

At the Essex Fight Academy, Fury is shown with another man who is holding the mitts. Here the Lineal, Ring Magazine, and WBC Champion is slowly getting back to boxing as he is gingerly (by his standards) landing blows on target. His movement too isn’t as explosive.

‘The Gypsy King’ is working on left jabs and sharp uppercuts as though he is committing them to muscle memory. Whilst the pace is pedestrian, fans can expect it to pick up by leaps and bounds as the trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder approaches.

Fury dominated the former Champion earlier this year in a fight that stopped following ‘The Bronze Bomber’s corner throwing in the towel. He claimed that Wilder’s cornerman should get a raise for that act.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ is seemingly dealing with an injury. However, the Champion may still have to defend his belt against mandatory contender Dillian Whyte. This is unless the WBC makes Fury the franchise champion. The move will allow him to bypass mandatory defenses until the Anthony Joshua clash in the summer of 2021.

Whoever the opponent, Fury knows he will have to be at his peak. This is because every boxer will bring their A-game as they aim to become the first to topple him and attain superstardom.

How excited are you to see Tyson Fury back training in the squared circle?
