WBA clarifies the situation between Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney

The organization has given Haney the title of super champion at lightweight, as he holds the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF titles. ‘Tank’ on the other hand, is currently the regular champion after making his mandatory title defense against Rolando Romreo back in May. Moreover, WBA also gave us an insight into the champions in other weight classes.

At super featherweight, Hector Garcia has been listed as the champion. However, he will be getting permission to move up a class to face Davis this coming January. This was certainly a much needed clarification from the organization. With the current number of belts in boxing, it is hard to pinpoint where a fighter actually stands.

Haney responds to Davis’ claims about their sparring session

The undisputed lightweight champ recently sounded off on Davis’ claims involving their sparring session. ‘Tank’ started the feud after claiming that he ‘cracked’ Haney during the sparring session. However, Haney refuted this claim as he took to Twitter and responded to Davis. He stated that he got the better of the 2-division champion and also took shots at him.
