Anthony Joshua might have to wait to face Kubrat Pulev with the fight set to be postponed. AJ’s title defence against Pulev was set for June 20th but the Boxing prodigy could be forced to give up the date due to the virus.

With several competitions cancelled due to the outbreak, fights might have to be pushed back due to availability of stadiums. With all top-flight matches suspended till early April, July seems to be the
the most likely date for the fight.

The Euro’s have been pushed back a year to 2021 to accommodate domestic matches in June and July depending on the situation.

“Obviously with the news of the Euros being cancelled and the possible extension of the Premier League season, Spurs may need that stadium in June. We do have an option to run that fight in July as well at the same stadium. Everything now is really a case-by-case situation and a day-by-day situation of trying to think on your feet. June 20 is a long time away. It’s still in our plans and we have been speaking to Tottenham to make sure we’re all on the same page and that we know we have the same strategy moving forward.”

With the spread of the virus, it’s incredibly hard to predict a potential date. With several sporting personalities contracting the disease the situation is not getting better. Eddie Hearn received criticism after dismissing the prospect of staging his fights behind closed doors. With most promotions staging fights behind closed door, Hearn might be forced to follow the trend.
