Seems like ‘Sugar’ Shakur Stevenson has a lot on his plate and his ‘self-proclaimed nemesis’ Edwin De Los Santos is leaving no stone unturned to incite him. The Dominican boxer provoked Stevenson by calling him “easy” on a microblogging platform. The 25-year-old’s recent victory was over Shuichiro Yoshino of Japan in April and this was his Lightweight debut. Santos is a part of the Dominican Boxing Renaissance and happens to be a gifted fighter. He, however, seems overtly confident of his skill as he is inviting the WBO, WBC, IBF, and WBA champion for a duel.

It must be noted that Santos had taken a jibe at the former WBO Featherweight champion on earlier occasions as well. The Olympics silver medal holder has his sights set on ‘The Dream’ Devin Haney after the latter’s controversial win against Ukrainian Boxer Vasiliy Lomachenko. As per his observation, the former Lightweight kingpin displayed more prowess than his counterpart. He felt that the undisputed Lightweight champion could be easily defeated.
Stevenson wishes to add the Lightweight world title to his kitty and so is keen on a match with Devin Haney. ‘The Fearless’ is also looking to compete with Gervonta Davis in order to establish himself as the greatest champion ever. His response to Edwin De Los Santos’ war cry was quite amusing.
This is what ‘Sugar’ Shakur had to say
Shakur Stevenson issued a rebuttal against Dominican Southpaw Edwin De Los Santos on Twitter. He wrote, “Then when I cook him y’all gone say he a bum.”
His fans too did not keep shut and there was an instant outpouring of support towards the New Jersey-born fighter. A fan named Trill Clinton expressed how he wanted to witness such fights so that certain decisions could be made.

A fan by the name of BIGCOOP incited Stevenson by asking him to fight the Dominican inside the ring instead of dishing it out on Twitter.
Man we want to see you prove it in the ring not on Twitter. We won’t say he’s a bum.
