The modern era welterweight division is an amalgamation of young guns as well as established boxing icons. For now, the division has three champions, Yordenis Ugas, Errol Spence Jr., and Terence Crawford. However, the fans want to see one champion in this weight class and Keith Thurman spilled the beans on the same.
Thurman is a seasoned veteran, and he’s had some notable achievements in this weight class.
Recently, he was in a chat with Brian Custer, wherein ‘One Time’ talked about how he wants the fans to recognize him, the state of the welterweight landscape, and more.

“When it’s all said and done, I just want fans to remember that Keith Thurman as one of the most exciting welterweights in the welterweight division. You know, my favorite thing is when people come up to me and say you are my favorite fighter,” he said.
He continued. “So, of course, my ultimate goal is to unify and be the undisputed welterweight champion. We will have an undisputed champion this year.”
Thurman wants to be in the title race, but before that, the champions of the division will have to compete within themselves. Consequently, Spence Jr. a few days back announced his next fight with Yordenis Ugas for the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles.

Also, Terence Crawford is also on the line, waiting to clash with rival Spence Jr. That said, once the outcome of Spence Jr. vs Ugas is clear, the winner might go ahead to fight ‘Bud’ for all the titles. Or the latter might have to defend his title meanwhile till Ugas and Spence Jr. settle their bout.
