There have been numerous siblings who have found success in the sport of boxing. This includes names like the Klitschko Brothers, The Charlo Brothers, and even the Mayweathers all of whom have had iconic careers. However, it is rare to see siblings face each other while competing as it poses a conflict of interest. This is why the Klitschko Brothers never faced off against each other despite competing in the same division at the same time.

However, it looks like British boxers Sunny and Charlie Edwards will prove to be an exception to this as the brothers were quick to suggest a fight between themselves. Charlie has been a former Flyweight champion holding the WBC strap between 2018 and 2019. Sunny on the other hand is the current IBF champion.

Moreover, he recently revealed that he has been signed by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom boxing. This led to one fan asking if he was willing to face his own brother in the ring, to which the current champion had the perfect response.

Sunny Edwards has a fitting response for a fan after being called out by his brother

Edwards claimed that he would be willing to fight his brother only if he worked his way up the rankings. He also added that the British title could open up the opportunity for the two of them to meet inside the ring. “He needs to work his way up the rankings a little bit, maybe a British title or something,” Sunny wrote.

The response caused one fan to wonder why the IBF champ was willing to face his own brother in the ring. However, Edwards revealed the real reason why the two brothers wanted to fight each other. “We’re autistically competitive,” he wrote.

It’s clear that the Edwards brothers have a deep respect and admiration for each other, both in and out of the ring. Despite this Charlie was not shy to call his brother for a match.

The former champion uploaded a video on social media shared by Michael Benson. In the video, he congratulated his younger brother on signing with Hearn and asked him to unify all the belts. However, he added that if Sunny wanted a big fight he should face him instead.

“Go out there, unify it, [be] undisputed bro. But, when you’re ready to get the real big fight, get on the phone Eddie [and] give me a call. Edwards vs. Edwards“, he said.

This clip garnered some great reactions from fans as well who were stunned after hearing this news. Although it is unclear whether they ever step into the ring together, for now, their competitive banter is keeping fans entertained and engaged.
