WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford has reassured fans about his situation with promoter Bob Arum. Top Rank’s promoter gave a very controversial interview about Crawford after the 33-year-old’s victory over Kell Brook. ‘Bud’ also gave his immediate reaction to those statements. However, the champion has now addressed where the two stand when it comes to their working relationship.
Speaking to the AK and Barak Show on SiriusXM, the American gave his view on the situation. He said, “We may have a disagreement right now, but we’re gonna get it figured out. I can’t bash Bob Arum when I know deep down in my heart that Bob really is a good dude and he really did try everything to get these fights I was asking for.”
Crawford is confident that things will get sorted between the pair. However, what does that say about his future fights? ‘Bud’ has confirmed that he does not need to fight Errol Spence Jr.
However, this fight is one fight the fans want to see and it would do well on the commercial side of things. Thus, Bob Arum will want to make it happen.
The only fight that would make sense for Crawford would be the Errol Spence Jr unification fight. However, there may be other big fights in the division. After his fight against Kell Brook, he expressed his desire to fight Manny Pacquiao.
Though that fight might be a stretch, it could happen. Pacquiao is still looking for a fight, and Arum could get the big money event he is after. However, what would that say about Terence Crawford and the criticisms he receives for not fighting the best in the division? It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds. Despite this, it is good news for fans that their relationship is on the mend.
