“What Are You Talking About” – Eddie Hearn Changes His Stance on a Fight With Mayweather Promotions CEO

Over the past few days, Eddie Hearn and Mayweather Promotions CEO, Leonard Ellerbe, has made constant headlines with their growing rift. Both the boxing biggies have gone after each other, thus keeping the fans hooked in with their rift. Moreover, it was also reported that the two promoters might fight each other. However, the Matchroom boss changed his stance altogether in a recent interview.

Hearn, speaking on his feud and rumored fight with Ellerbe, said, “I don’t know. Yeah, I actually have people asking me ‘Are you going to do it?’ ‘Are you going to do the Ellerbe fight?’ I’m like no, what are you talking about.”

“I was joking. That’s the problem. No, I think it’s good really, you know.”

Eddie Hearn and other boxing promoters always look to go toe to toe with each other on business scales. That said, all these promoters remain eager to sign the best of boxing talent and eventually roll out some of the biggest events for their fighters.

As a result, things tend to heat up at times between these bigwigs, as everyone is competing with all their might. Furthermore, these promoters always remain keen on churning out most revenue for their fighters and themselves, and this eventually leads to a business war.

That said, Leonard Ellerbe was in his element and he ended up giving a scathing comment on Hearn.

He said, “Someone said it to me earlier. What did I say to Leonard Ellerbe to make him like that, and I said, Devin Haney’s fights bigger than ‘Tank’s. I didn’t say they had bad dressings and bad shoes.”

It seems the entire matter revolved around Haney’s and Davis’s fights, which took place one after the other.

With this, it can surely be concluded that the rivalry between the two promoters is real and fans might get to witness more of their banters in the coming days.
