The 5’9″ boxer doubtlessly takes pride in representing his hometown, and seems to be a pretty patriotic kind of guy. His Instagram profile, for instance, says just two things by way of description. One is ‘Athlete’, which, of course, is the thing he has dedicated his life to. The other is ‘American’, indicating how deeply he loves his country.

Travis Kent Crawford’s ethnicity and religion

Not much public information is available about Travis Kent Crawford, including his ethnicity, family background, or religion. What we do know for sure is that the Texan ardently believes in God, with mentions of the Almighty and his faith being recurring features of his Instagram captions. It seems he is a Christian.

This faith in God is what seems to have kept Crawford motivated and driven despite his brief and forgettable amateur stint. His BoxRec record shows only one amateur fight—against Jordan Jenkins at the 2022 Texas Golden Gloves—which he lost via a unanimous decision. The same year, Crawford would take the leap, turning pro in 2022.

The Texan’s early career went the way of his amateur career, as he lost not only his debut fight, but his second professional fight, too. While his debut fight was a catastrophic KO loss, his second defeat was a much closer majority decision that went the other way. While many would have quit boxing altogether after suffering such setbacks, Crawford was made of sterner stuff.

He persevered and put together a seven-fight win streak between 2022 and 2024. Unfortunately, this was followed by another string of losses. Crawford lost two fights on a trot for the second time in his career, both of them decisions. And that is where the Corpus Christi native finds himself coming into his September 13 contest against Mohamed Alakel. What do you think about Crawford’s boxing journey?
