WBO welterweight champion Mikaela Mayer is returning to the ring on 29th March at the Fontainebleau Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her opponent? Mayer will lock horns with a familiar rival, the former owner of the title, Sandy Ryan. The rematch comes on the heels of a controversial incident that shocked the boxing world last year before their first fight.

Right before their fight, Ryan was attacked with a paint can by an unknown individual, which she says impacted her performance, leading to her loss by a majority decision. Now, the pair is ready to settle the debate with a much-anticipated rematch. Amid all the excitement, though, fans have been pondering a familiar question: how much is Mayer worth?

With 22 total fights under her belt, it’s safe to assume, Mayer has accumulated most of her wealth from her professional boxing career. According to Sporty Salaries, the 34-year-old is worth a whopping $3 million. While most of the income has come from her fights, her work with various sponsors has also added to her wealth over the years.

For instance, Mayer has previously promoted DLX Boxing Gym, and Victory Boxing Club on her Instagram handle. Her other endorsement deals include JP Athletics, Contenders, Everlast, and more. Some sources even claim that Mayer is currently making $300K per fight. But the question is, how much did she make against Ryan in their first fight?

The 34-year-old mostly fights twice a year, allowing her a steady stream of income from her bouts. While the purse details about her initial fights are unavailable, she reportedly made $10k each for her fights against Vanessa Bradford, Calista Silgado, and Yareli Larios. She got a pay upgrade when she took on Lizbeth Crespo, making $25K for the bout.

Even the fight against Alejandra Soledad Zamora netted her the same amount.  For the next three fights against Helen Joseph, Ewa Brodnicka, and Érica Farías, Mayer walked home with $100K each. Her first title defense against Maiva Hamadouche in 2021 saw her cash a paycheck of $150k an additional $400k from estimated pay-per-view buys.

When Mayer locked horns with Jennifer Han, her paycheck had increased substantially, earning her a guaranteed purse of $275k and $550k from the PPV share. In the biggest fight of her career at the time against Alycia Baumgardner, Mayer made $325k. Since then, her purses seem to have been on a decline, but worth her time.

Mayer made $250k for fighting Lucy Wildheart, $150k for Silvia Bortot and during the Natasha Jonas fight, which she lost, Mayer cashed $300k, plus $675k from PPV sales. During her last fight against Sandy Ryan, Mayer seems to have collected another $300k. Unfortunately, the purse details about her rematch are unavailable.

That said, despite a couple of losses, Mikaela Mayer is clearly doing pretty well for herself. After her fight on Saturday night, she is expected to be significantly richer. What are your thoughts on her purses?
