Stephen Fulton is gearing up for a massive rematch against Brandon Figueroa for the WBC Featherweight title. These two boxers squared off for the first time in November 2021 at Super Bantamweight where Fulton was a champion. After Fulton dealt Figueroa his first loss, ‘The Heartbreaker’ moved up to featherweight. However, Fulton’s reign as the unified champion didn’t last long as Naoya Inoue dealt Fulton his first and only career loss. Soon ‘Cool Boy Steph’ followed Brandon Figueroa into featherweight. And now, the two are ready to duke it out once again in the co-main event of David Benavidez vs. David Morrell on February 1.

In his fight against Isaac Avelar in 2019, Fulton reportedly earned $30,000 for his knockout victory. Though this amount was relatively modest compared to his later paydays, it marked the beginning of his rise. The next year Fulton fought Arnold Khegai and won the WBO Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight title. After this victory, his purse increased to $100,000. Khegai, on the other hand, took home $60,000.

Stephen Fulton’s win over Angelo Leo in January 2021 to capture the WBO World Super Bantamweight title again brought in a substantial payday. According to a report from Sporty Salaries, Fulton made $400,000, plus a 50% share of the PPV revenue, which reportedly brought his total earnings for the fight to approximately $1.2 million.

Remember Fulton’s majority decision victory over Brandon Figueroa in 2021? It was the match where the Philadelphia native defended his WBC Super Bantamweight title and retained the WBO title. The close contest netted him $500,000, with another 50% share of the PPV earnings. His total earnings from the fight amounted to a reported $1.8 million, while Figueroa earned $800,000. And we also have Stephen Fulton’s title defense fight against Daniel Roman in 2022. Fulton earned the same $500,000 plus a 50% PPV share. His total earnings were reportedly less for this fight. Only $1.5 million, while Roman earned $300,000. Little did he know, his next fight would change the course by a huge margin.

The July 2023 bout with pound-for-pound great Naoya Inoue was his biggest financial windfall to date. Despite losing his WBC and WBO Super Bantamweight titles to Inoue, Fulton earned a whopping $3 million from the fight, including a share from the PPV. However, following his loss, the most recent fight against Carlos Castro last year netted him $300,000, a more modest figure but still significant in the world of boxing.
