YouTuber turned boxing sensation, Jake Paul will finally have his long-yearned fight against longtime nemesis, Tommy Fury. While there is no denying that the hype for this fight has the boxing fraternity at the edge of their seats. The news that a WBC belt awaits the victor has further upped the ante. Meanwhile, it was also reported that there was a new set of guidelines for this fight.

The Paul vs Fury showdown will take place at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia, on February 26, 2023.

WBC president, Mauricio Sulaiman, had previously opened up about giving Paul a belt. Talking about the same, he said, “Jake Paul has been close to the WBC for several years. Starting with the first event promoted in the UK. Jake has dedication and respect to the sport. And the WBC will not tolerate discrimination against anyone. He deserves the opportunities that any other boxer has.”

It was recently reported that the fight will have WBC open scoring.

Notably, this means that both teams would be informed of the judges’ scorecards halfway through the fight. Moreover, Video Assistant Referees will also be present to prevent dodgy refereeing decisions.

Boxing fans were intrigued to see this new set of guidelines by WBC. In fact, a lot of them took to social media to share their thoughts.

A user, @LukeByron, wasted no time in pointing out the ‘nonsense’.

Meanwhile, a lot of users were happy with the introduction of VAR. And also mentioned that it is a ‘positive thing’.

Similarly, many fans felt that VAR should be a part of world title fights.
