Quashing all the rumors, the coach had said to Izquierdazo that Joshua has not told anything to him officially it is not split yet. After a couple of losses, it was in the news, Anthony Joshua may look up to a new coach, and it went like fire. But the official statement from Robert Garcia has settled everyone.

The British boxing star stated earlier that he would move to America to try his luck with the boxing coaches there. What does Robert Garcia have to say about the change?

The whole buzz of changing the coach started after Joshua’s two losses against Usyk. It was in the news that Joshua might be tuned up with boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. for his upcoming ventures. Also, he moved to America to meet new coaches. All the information made people believe that all the connections between Joshua and his main trainer Garcia had halted. Garcia cleared it up, stating that there is no such official news till now.

“A couple of weeks ago, AJ called to tell me that he would come to the United States, to meet with other trainers to see how he feels training with them,” he said to Izquierdazo. He continued, “But he never told me ‘I’m not working with you anymore.’ He never told me ‘I don’t like your style.’” It kind of made it clear that it is still just a rumor and nothing else.

Robert Garcia gave suggestions to Anthony Joshua

In the interview with Izquierdazo, Robert Garcia also gave some tips to ace Josuha’s performance in the next matches. He said, “Even if he doesn’t train with me, I would like him to come to train in the United States. This is where he needs to have a camp, to change his routine, to leave his comfort zone, where he will get more responsibility. That’s what I recommended to them. Anthony needs a gym with other fighters, other champions, more examples, more people motivating him, that will cheer him up”. He concluded that he has no hard feelings if Joshua goes for a change in the future.

Anthony Joshua was with Robert Garcia for a long time. Only time can answer whether the heavyweight champion will change his trainer or not. He might be returning in early 2023 and Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are certainly his potential fights, if not right away. From the boxer’s perspective, a change may be required to get the desired result.
