When a Young Mike Tyson Revealed the Three Techniques He Is Mindful of During His Ring Walks

A young Mike Tyson, who won a world title at the mere age of 20. He was always regarded as one of the scariest punchers in the history of heavyweight boxing. Possessing monstrous power in his fists, ‘Iron’ was also technically alarming and had a pinpoint defense which made him hard to hit.

While Tyson lost his unbeaten status in the final years of his career, his early days in the ring went lopsided in his favor. That said, a prime Mike Tyson once revealed the thoughts that he had come across while making the ring walk. ES News dropped a video recently that cited some of the best moments of Mike Tyson from the past.

In the clip, Tyson said, “Mostly, soon as the fight starts. I am in the dressing room, I am coming towards. I basically think of staying relaxed, I have been doing this for five years. And I have put in so much time and I mostly think about when I am gonna pop my jab, move my head and be fast.”

Tyson made his pro-debit in 1985 and accepted 15 fights in the same year. He went on a terrific run and became a world champion in 1986. Four years from then, Tyson suffered his maiden defeat against James Douglas in 1990, which became one of the biggest upsets in sporting history.

However, Mike Tyson rebounded from it and staged sensational wins till 1996, before Evander Holyfield put a dent in that run. So, Mike Tyson’s boxing ride was full of ups and downs. But his itch to fight remained constant throughout. Aged 55, Tyson may still have that itch as he returned to action in 2020 at the age of 54.
