Is Mike Tyson really ready to fight Jake Paul? The potential risks to 57-year-old’s wellbeing have raised the same concerns among fans, and that includes former world champion Jamel Herring! Initially scheduled for July 20 at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, the fight is now pushed back to November 15 at the same venue. While Tyson has maintained he is primed to take the former Disney star down in the Netflix exclusive event, Herring can’t help but express his concerns about the fight on social media.

Jamel Herring sounds alarm bells

Earlier today, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ took to X, sharing the updated poster for his fight against Paul. While highlighting the new date for the fight, Tyson wrote, “New date for Jake’s wake”.

This seems to have caught Herring’s eye, who quickly responded to the tweet, writing, “Love you, Mike but I’m definitely concerned now seeing it’s pushed way back [till] November”.

Interestingly, alongside the Paul-Tyson fight, even the highly anticipated rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano has been pushed to November, which will act as the co-main event of the night.

The fight will see Taylor and Serrano vie for Taylor’s undisputed super lightweight status. The duo initially went toe-to-toe in April 2022, when Serrano was handed a split decision loss, marking only the second defeat in her career.

Meanwhile, Paul’s business partner and co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, has reassured fans that the upcoming fight will proceed smoothly and without any issues, ensuring that all preparations are on track and any potential obstacles have been effectively managed.

The fight will come amid the Dallas Cowboys season, which takes place in the stadium, so Bidarian thanked all the parties involved for securing the same venues amid the busy schedule. Suggesting the Tyson-Paul fight is the biggest cross generational event, Paul’s business partner said, “We are committed to providing fans worldwide with this unforgettable night of boxing”.

Like it or not, the fight seems inevitable at this point–the best fans can hope for now is that Mike Tyson can knock out Jake Paul when they eventually meet in the ring in November. Do you think the sanctioning body should intervene to stop the fight?
