A big fight just concluded, and talks of another one have taken over the internet. Devin Haney absolutely destroyed Regis Prograis and his chances of making a PPV fight again. However, as ‘The Dream’ Haney celebrated his victory, Ryan Garcia was split with a conundrum. Recently, the Victorville native defeated Oscar Duarte via eight-round stoppage and decided to call out Rolly Rolando Romero.

However, after Haney’s win, Garcia can’t decide who to fight first. So, Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, came to his rescue. Yet, in his attempt to solve Garcia’s confusion, ‘Golden Boy’ might just have made the situation worse by introducing a Shakur Stevenson angle. So, this begs the question – what actually transpired on X (formerly Twitter) that gave birth to the whole discussion?

Ryan Garcia: Rolly then Haney? Haney then Rolly haha

After Haney’s fight, Garcia hopped on X to reveal that he wanted to fight Rolly Romero and then Devin Haney or Haney before Romero – he doesn’t really care. “Rolly then Haney? Haney then rolly, haha. Whatever, Let’s get it,” wrote Garcia. However, he wasn’t done as he turned to X yet again to reveal that he would be fighting in March next year. Meanwhile, Garcia realized Haney might not be able to make it because of his fight today.

“I’m fighting in March, so I don’t think Haney can run it back In time, but open to it. Makes sense for rolly and I to run it in March,” stated Garcia. That’s when De La Hoya jumped in with the Shakur Stevenson angle! “As @RyanGarcia promoter, the big fight is @Realdevinhaney next. Who wants to see it? Or @ShakurStevenson next,” wrote De La Hoya. But what did Garcia think of Haney’s performance Saturday night?

Garcia claims to know Devin Haney quite too well

There is no way anyone can deny Haney’s boxing prowess after what the man did to Regis. While landing punches in bunches, Haney limited Regis from landing much. According to Compubox, Regis landed 36 shots on Haney, which was less than Edwin De Los Santos’ 40 punches against Shakur Stevenson.

So, ‘King Ry’ turned to X, congratulating Haney for the win, but also claimed he knew Haney and could beat him in a fight. “Haney is Good, no doubt, but I know him all to well, and I will beat him,” wrote Garcia. Later in the tweet, Garcia even suggested that he would fight Haney sometime in the coming year.

While Ryan Garcia could not decide who he wanted to fight first, Oscar De La Hoya’s attempt to help Garcia has further added to the confusion. However, one thing is clear  – whoever Garcia ends up fighting first, boxing fans will be eagerly awaiting fight night.
