Canelo Alvarez is currently training for his fight against Caleb Plant, which will decide the inaugural undisputed super-middleweight champion of the world. Alvarez is working hard to ensure he comes out with his hand raised on this historic night.

Ahead of his fight, Canelo revealed the two fighters that he used as his sparring partners to prepare for Caleb ‘Sweethands’ Plant. Let’s take a look at Canelo’s sparring partners.

Canelo Alvarez sparring partners for the Caleb Plant fight

In an interview with Brian Custer, Canelo Alvarez revealed the two fighters he brought on to his camp. The unified super-middleweight champion said (via a translator), “He has sparred with Ronald and Rashidi Ellis. They are both brothers and they have been with him during this training camp.”

Who is Ronald Ellis?

Ronald Ellis is a 32-year-old super-middleweight with a record of 17 wins, 2 losses, and two draws. Ellis most recently fought former WBC champion, David Benavidez, earlier this year. ‘Akeem’ lost by way of TKO in the 11th round of their WBC super middleweight eliminator.
