The happy family had everything on board until Arreola suffered another tragedy in his life. In 2oo7, he attended a Halloween Party with his best friend Alex Carranza in 2007. Unfortunately, an altercation broke out, leading several people to fire gunshots. As Carranza tried to rescue a lady, he was shot dead.

Later, Arreola and his wife gave birth to a son and named him Alex in memory of his lost friend. ‘The Nightmare’ has always received immense support from his family and that has inspired him to attain success in the sport. Meanwhile, he found a reason to continue after looking at his kids.

In interaction with PBC, the multiple times title-contender said, “My daughter was part of my main motivation for getting back into boxing. Now, with my son being named after Alex, it’s become even more important.”

He added, “I won’t quit in the ring because of my children. I don’t ever want my children to see their dad as a quitter.”

While he aims to return in action and is looking forward to entering the title ride, Chris Arreola is still a viable name in the boxing circuit. But considering his age, this might be the last run for the world heavyweight title.
