Danny Kelly Jr. was a former American pro-boxer who was in good spirits throughout his combat career. However, he didn’t fight since his last win over Nick Kisner in 2019. The 30-year-old is back again to making headlines, but this time for his unfortunate death.

The boxer was reportedly murdered during his family trip, and police are investigating the matter. This news comes as a shock to the entire world, especially the boxing fraternity. The unfortunate killing happened on Christmas eve which left the people to question the security of the common man.

According to reports, ‘Smooth’ Kelly Jr. was driving with his girlfriend and children when the deadly occurrence happened. The boxer was driving on the 4400 block of St. Barnabas road. Initial reports suggest a road-rage urged the attacker to unleash the vicious crime, which caused a fatality for Kelly Jr.

While the boxer was inside the car, another vehicle pulled up and shot his vehicle. Kelly Jr.’s partner and children were safe, but the boxer breathed his last. The entire incident happened at 4:40 PM, leaving Danny Kelly Jr.’s family and friends heartbroken.

The boxer’s younger cousin Brian said, “I still can’t believe that he won’t answer my call,” said his younger cousin Brian. “Which is crazy because I was just with him.” 

Meanwhile, his godmother Bernadine Walker added, “He was a wonderful dad.”

In seven years, Danny ‘Smooth’ Kelly Jr. had amassed a pro-record of 10-3-1 with 9 KOs in his favor. None of his opponents could ever stop him in the ring. He was sheerly active from 2012 to 2016 but went into a long lay-off after losing to Adam Kownacki and Stephen Shaw in a row. He then returned in 2019 and scored a sensational over Nick Kisner.

Unfortunately, the boxer went into a hiatus again and we heard nothing about his comeback plans.
