Floyd Mayweather Sr, has been active from 1974 to 1990, boasting off a pro record of 28 wins, 6 losses and one no contest. It isn’t a very impressive resume, but Mayweather’s defensive ability was unique.

Everything we see in Jr. is a passing of the torch by his father, and it was Mayweather Sr. who touted himself as a defensive elite. Despite failing to notch a big belt, Mayweather Sr. still cemented himself amongst the greatest and has faced umpteen A-listers, including Sugar Ray Leonard, in his career.

In 1990, he finally hung his gloves to don the trainer’s cap after riding on a three-fight losing streak. Six years later, his son turned professional and Mayweather Sr. has been his head trainer since then.

The recognized trainer is also a grandfather, and a father to four kids, including Floyd Jr. Although he remains low key about his personal life, fans continue to hunt more about him.

According to the Mayweather experience, the 68-year-old has also battled with Sarcoidois, a disease that enlarges one’s lymph. But it couldn’t prevent Mayweather Sr. from hitting the gym.
