Who are Nico Ali Walsh’s Parents?

Ali Walsh’s father is Robert Anthony Walsh, AKA Bob Walsh. Bob was born in Chicago in October 1957. His parents were businesspeople and ran a family restaurant. This made Bob fall in love with the culinary world and urged him to continue what his parents instilled in him.

After graduating from college in Wisconsin, Bob joined the Marine corps and served for a while. While we don’t know where he served and how long he served, he remains a US army veteran. After he served the country, he returned to his hometown and started working at his family restaurant.

After a while, Bob decided to further his culinary career, so he joined the American Culinary Federation to train as an apprentice. Soon afterward, Bob began working at the Rosebud Restaurant. He also worked at Jilly’s Steakhouse and other notable eateries in Chicago before moving to Florida.

it was during this time when he worked as an executive chef in Florida that he met his future wife and daughter to Muhammad Ali, Rasheda Ali, who worked as a hostess there.

Boxer Nico Ali Walsh’s pro debut fight explored

Nico Ali Walsh honored Muhammad Ali in his very first professional fight. The 21-year-old debutant entered the ring sporting a pair of shorts that his grandfather gave him. Ali Walsh made easy work of his first fight, knocking his opponent Jordan Weeks out in 70 seconds. After his fight, he spoke about his grandfather.

“It’s just an emotional journey, this whole ride,” Ali Walsh said. “This lived up completely to my expectations. Obviously, my grandfather, I’ve been thinking about him so much. I miss him.” They also signed Ali Walsh with the same promoters that promoted 27 of his grandfather’s fights.

After his very first win, Walsh celebrated in the ring with Muhammed Ali’s former promoter and his current promoter Bob Arum. Walsh is currently signed with Bob Arum’s Top Rank promotions and he trains under Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury’s coach Sugarhill Steward.

Who is Ali Walsh fighting next?

After securing his second professional win on the undercard of the Shakur Stevenson vs Jamel Herring fight, Ali Walsh will now search for his next challenge. Ali Walsh fought James Wesley II in his second pro fight. Wesley’s corner threw in the towel within 10 seconds of the third round.

Although Walsh does not have any fights signed till now, before his fight against Wesley he spoke about his desire to fight in London.

“Yeah. My grandfather – I wanna say, honestly – one of his biggest fanbases was the UK. I’ve gained such a huge amount of respect for the UK. Bob Arum was actually telling me about when him and my grandfather traveled to the UK during the 60s. When kinda the world was turning their back on my grandfather because of the decisions that he made, the UK didn’t turn their back on him.

“Bob Arum told me that when they walked out of their hotel, there was a huge group of fans and photographers still wanting to take pictures with my grandfather when no-one else really wanted to. So Arum definitely wants me to fight in the UK and that’s where I wanna fight too, one day.” Walsh said.
