

Floyd Mayweather competed in the popular reality TV series Dancing With The Stars back in 2007. He partnered up with Karina Smirnoff a Soviet-born American professional ballroom dancer.

Smirnoff was a regular on the show and even went on to win season thirteen of the show. However, she was not as lucky when she was teamed up with Mayweather. The audience eliminated Mayweather and Smirnoff during the 4th week of the show.

What is impressive about Mayweather’s performance is the fact that he went on the show while preparing to fight Ricky Hatton. So when he was off the show, he would focus fully on his training.

Mayweather took the loss in his stride and said, “It was marvelous just being here, just to get to this plateau. For all the fans that supported me, to everybody behind the scenes, I really appreciate it. We had a great time.”

The host Tom Bergeron then poked a little fun at Mayweather, saying, “Now you get to train full-time for Dec. 8,” Bergeron was referring to Mayweather’s December 8 showdown against Ricky Hatton.

Mayweather went on to knock the Brit out and stake his claim as one of the greatest boxers of all time. Hatton found it hard to land punches on Mayweather and hardly dealt any punishment.

Karina Smirnoff reveals why Floyd Mayweather got eliminated from Dancing With The Stars
Ten years after he lost to Mark Cuban on dancing with the stars, Mayweather’s dancing partner revealed why the pair got eliminated in just week 4 of the show. In an interview with TMZ Sports, Smirnoff said,
“No we weren’t that good. We definitely weren’t that good. We thought we were better than we actually were. “

“I think it’s a combination of footwork, arm work, bodywork, rhythm.” She also spoke about how Mayweather could have been a better dancer, but he didn’t give himself enough time to train.
